Artist Statement

Nature is my instant meditation. Whenever I’m feeling anxious, sad, distracted, tired or any other not so positive emotion I go for a walk in the outdoors. It calms me, focuses my brain and energizes my body.

I create landscape paintings that take you there. Wander into golden fields of swaying grasses toward the distant shade of a tree for a sense of calm. Feel the warmth of a setting sun illuminating crimson oak trees forming long shadows for a boost of energy. Take a stroll down a nostalgic country road on a summer’s day past fields with rustic fences. Pause beneath a leafy canopy among the dappled light and contemplate a happy memory.

Walking  in nature helps to heal my mind and body and I hope my paintings draw you in and do the same for you.
